Very soon I’ll be starting to write the skeletons for my essays for the contextual Theology course that I participated in the other week in Queensland. One of the essays that I’ll be writing is a Theology of Lament from a youth hermeneutic… Yeah, big words I know, I’ll refrain from using them as much as I can.
In a world where Depression is a disease that one can be medicated from, that is wrong, that happens when there’s an un-balance I think we’ve lost the art, the abilty to Lament. Once upon a time people could stand together and express their Lament, where people were able to Lament in the knowledge that God took their suffering seriously. Now? Now we are uncomfortable with those thoughts, we are uncomfortable feeling those things, we are uncomfortable sitting with people feeling these things.
Depression is ab-normal. Feeling bad is wrong.
This song by Moby reached out of the cd/dvd and grabbed me by the throat when I first heart it. The lyrics are simple, still that doesnt stop it from being a powerful song… If you have the chance go and get this cd, I’ve used it soooooo many times, the dvd is also a beautiful thing, and comes with a lot of remixes on a cd.
